Many people search for purpose by looking inward at their own abilities and achievements, but this approach always falls short. Like Leonardo da Vinci watching his masterpiece deteriorate, human accomplishments are temporary. True purpose comes through the Holy Spirit, who reveals our God-given gifts and guides us into the good works God has prepared in advance. Our spiritual gifts serve as clues to our purpose, not destinations themselves. Rather than chasing purpose elsewhere, we discover it through daily faithfulness and dependence on the Holy Spirit right where we are.
